Guest Speaker: Dr LeRoy Lawson
The MCC Missions Team has put together an amazing weekend for you to enjoy. We have an incredible speaker sharing with us both Saturday and Sunday. Dr. Leroy Lawson has quite the resume. Here are a few of his accomplishments:
On January 1, 2012 Emmanuel Christian Seminary officially added Dr. Roy Lawson to its faculty to teach in the Christian Ministries Area. Dr. Lawson will teach a Doctor of Ministry course in late January titled “Church Administration and Leadership.” When the master’s level classes begin in February, he will teach “Theological Foundations and Best Practices,” a course in church leadership.
Dr. Lawson served as an international consultant with Christian Missionary Fellowship, a member of the Publishing Committee of Standard Publishing, was a contributing editor to Christian Standard and has authored over 30 books. He has served as President of Hope International University and ministered with churches larg
e and small in Oregon, Indiana and Arizona. He is a much sought-after and gifted speaker. We are very privileged to have him at Milwaukie Christian Church!
Schedule of Events:
Friday, 2/24 at 7 pm: An evening of Praise and Worship with our guest Faith Promise Band (Led by Grace Johnson!) There will be skits by MCC and BBC folks. Child care provided by BBC Children’s Team.
Saturday, 2/25 at 6 pm: Dinner and Faith Promise Program. Dinner is free. (If you are able to help offset the cost of the dinner the suggested donation is $5 per person.) Rodney Osterhoudt will be in the kitchen whipping up this menu: Pot Roast, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Green Beans, Salad & Dessert. After dinner there will be a children’s program provided by the BBC Children’s Team. Dr. LeRoy Lawson will be speaking and the Faith Promise Worship Band will lead us in worship.
Sunday, 2/26 at 9:30 am: Worship Service and Message from Dr. LeRoy Lawson. Worship will be led by The Faith Promise Worship Band. The Children will go through their own great program downstairs led by the BBC Children’s Team. There will be no Fellowship Time or 11 am classes.
